Roman Provence
I won a Presidential Fellowship from SCAD to research and illustrate the Roman ruins of Provence, France. The goal is to create illustrations of both what the look like now and what they may have looked like in their prime.
Here is just the first small batch of sketches from Nimes.
Political Cartoons
Jane Austen Collection

To celebrate Jane Austen's 250th birthday, I created a cover illustration for each of her novels. Each image is 11x14" pen and ink on acid free Bristol board. This style is ment to evoke the etching plates of the 19th century while capturing the depth of value and texture to prevalent in Austen's novels.
Sketching Savannah
With urban sketching, I love to create quick, impressionistic images that are imperfect but evocative of memory. While photographs can freeze an exact moment and provide a way to look back, sketches are more fluid and capture the impression of the moment. Layering rapid sketches in pen or graphite with the translucentce of watercolors, I can capture an emotion that extends beyond the reality of the scene.
